Membership
Whether you are looking to deepen your knowledge of finance, build a professional network, or access financial literature, Börsenforum Ulm provides the ideal platform. Members also have the opportunity to take an active role in the association, help shape its future, and gain invaluable experience.
In our Careers section, members gain access to exclusive internship and job opportunities. You can also start your journey within BFU by joining a department of your choice.
Passive members have no obligations within the association and can simply benefit from all of our offerings.
Our membership fee is €20 per year.
Certificate in Stock Market Fundamentals
One of the highlights of our program is the Certificate in Stock Market Fundamentals (“Börsenführerschein”), offered every winter semester. The program consists of a lecture series covering essential capital-market knowledge, followed by the opportunity to take a nationally standardized and certified examination administered by the BVH (Bundesverband der Börsenvereine an deutschen Hochschulen e.V., our umbrella organization). Secure your place and take the opportunity to expand your financial knowledge. This year’s Certificate in Stock Market Fundamentals for the winter semester 2025/26 will take place on 13 November, 20 November, 27 November, and 4 December at 6:00 p.m. in a hybrid format at Ulm University. Further details will be provided by email.
Lectures
You complete four lectures covering ‘Stock Exchanges, Capital Markets and Trading’, ‘Stocks, Bonds and Funds’, ‘Options and Certificates’ as well as ‘Investment Philosophies and Market Psychology’
Preparation
Using the provided handouts, you review the lecture material and prepare for the subsequent certification exam.
Certification
You earn the certificate by completing a two-hour multiple-choice examination standardized nationwide by the BVH (Bundesverband der Börsenvereine an deutschen Hochschulen e.V., our umbrella organization).
Investment Team
The Investment Team takes part in an ongoing competition between German student investment clubs, with the goal of building a high-performing portfolio while taking volatility into account.
We trade with virtual funds on the wikifolio.de platform to gain practical experience in investing and portfolio construction. You can view our portfolio HERE. The Investment Team focuses on hands-on experience with stocks, ETFs, and leveraged products. We also meet weekly to discuss potential investments and strategies.
Everyone is welcome to contribute, regardless of their level of experience, and can put their ideas into practice in coordination with the rest of the group. We are currently divided into an Event Team and a Value Team.
Event-Team
The Event Team pursues event-driven and derivatives-based strategies, seeking to capitalize on market reactions to current developments. These are short- to medium-term trades that also make use of technical analysis.
Value-Team
The Value Team focuses on a company’s “fair value”, identifying potential under- or overvaluation of stocks and indices. It follows a long-term investment approach based on fundamental analysis.
As knowledge sharing is a core part of our mission, everyone is welcome regardless of prior experience. The necessary know-how is provided through presentations and self-study materials on our learning platform. Secure your place now!
